HAPPY EASTER!! THis wek was so amazing to reflect on the sacrafise of my brother jesus Christ. I know that Christ suffered for every one of my pains, temptations, and sins. Easter is the most important day of mankind. It is only through the resurrection and suffering of Christ that we can return to Jesus Christ! It was another amazing week to be a missionary in the CDMX! The last week we  got transfer news and Elder Smith and I are staying in Tepalcates! I was super excited because it is the first time I will be staying in the same area and having the same companion. So hopefully we have a good cycle! Highlights: -So this week was Holy week and wowww it is crazy over hear. I mean they go HAARRDDD for Holy Week. They had a full on reenactment of the crucifixion (Of a real man and a huge cross), they have pools set up everywhere to symbolize the resurrection of a holy body, and they have people sniping you with water balloons to show something about Jesus Christ(My companion an...

Questions: Art of Elevating Man

Image
Wow this week was amazing! Highlights: -GENERAL CONFRENCE!!! If you do not know what general conference is, it is when the prophet of God along with his apostles speaks to the people of God. It is one of the biggest blessings in my life and this week I have grown a strong testimony of this conference through my testimony. I love a quote from Ezra Taft Benson that says "God’s revelation to Adam did not instruct Noah how to build the ark. Every generation has need of the ancient scripture, plus the current scripture from the living prophet.". We all know that the problems of today are different from the problems of the generation of our parents. Prophets provide our modern day guide for this very day. I also love Matthew 24:37–39 and 43 which says 37 But as the days of  a No ah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the  a flood  they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until t...

Quick update! Highlights: -Teaching Rodrigo and his family. They are progressing so much and they are really the most amazing people on earth! Keep them in your prayers please! Rodrigo, Media, Ismael, and Sofia! -Jorge is still killing it as usual and we hope to go to the temple with him and his family this week. He also gives us food every morning and it is always SOOO GOOD!  -We met a guy named Antonio two weeks ago and he had some serious addictions to drinking. We talked to him in the street for an hour and it was a powerful lesson. We kind of lost contact with him, but this week he came up to us in nice clothes and combed hair. He told us he has not drunk beer or alcohol for two weeks and he feels so good. He told us that he had drunken a bottle of beer everyday of his life sense he was 15! So cool to see the change! We asked him what made him change and he told us he looked into our eyes and knew we were representatives of Jesus Christ and that we could help him return...

Temple Trip and Jorge!

Image
Hey guys! These past two weeks have been a blast!  Highlights: -We met an investigator named Jorge. He is the most amazing person and has had such a desire to learn and share the gospel. We have started to teach his family and two other families that are super close to him as well. We have basically lived in Jorge's house the past week. We do Basketball in the morning with them, English Classes, and Lessons with them about everyday. Typically it also ends up that they surprise us with a breakfast and a dinner. They are the Best! -Sushi Night! Our stake president loves us and decided to take us to Sushi. He definitely spent way more money than we deserved, but it was delicious!!! -We WENT TO THE TEMPLE! I love the temple and I love the spirit in the temple! Spiritual: I have pondered a lot about the journey to the promise land and in particular a verse  "(There are eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadesh-barnea)”-Deuteronomy 1:2 There is a art...

Becoming Clean

Had a CRAZY busy day and this week was kind of strange, so this email is going to be short! Highlights: -Played Chess with Ivan(The Blind Man). He actually is really good at chess (at least for  being blind.). He even beat my companion which was pretty crazy. But my companion demands for a rematch jajaja. I know he will get him sometime! -Found some good news this week, but none of them came to church which is always heartbreaking! -Had a missionary give me a haircut! Luckily he actually did a pretty good job. I was nervous to say yes, but he is kind of legendary in this mission so I decided to give it a go!  -Got to go back to Chicoloapan again to baptize! It was a super tender experience. The woman is 82 and just the biggest sweet heart on this earth! Always amazing to see the joy of baptism! -I LOVE my companion Elder Smith! He is so funny and loves to work hard! It has been a blast seeing him grow as a missionary! Spiritual thought: "Every man's work shall be made m...

Prayer to Revelation

I hope everybody is doing AWESOME! Here is the quick highlights of my week: -I received my new companion Elder Smith and it has been SOOO MUCH FUN! He makes me laugh so hard and we have been working really hard! -I got to return to Chicoloapan to do some Baptisms! It was so much fun seeing the joy of Baptism! Jetzemani, Joan, Vennesa, and Kimberly all have been such amazing examples to me! -Got to go to Central with my Mission Presidents and get some stuff. It was super cool because we got to see the house of the President and some historical sight. TO finish it off we got some amazing food, which always makes a trip better! Spiritual Story: This week we were walking home one night and we walked past a blind man. We were super tired and our initial thought was just to pass by and get to our house. But 5 minutes after walking by him, I felt the spirit to turn around. SO we walked back and we asked him if he needed help. He asked us if we could walk him to the bus station 10 minute...

BYE BYE CHICOLOAPAN

Hello EVERYONE! This email will be short. This week was full of so many miracles and a big part of them came from the temple trip we had! The temple is a HOLY PLACE! Some highlights: -The big news I got this week was that I will have transfers tomorrow. This was both really exciting and SUPER SAD. The sad part is that I LOVE Chicoloapan and the people here. The miracles have been so amazing in this area and 5 weeks just is not enough time for me in this area. Luckily I have been invited back for a lot of baptisms, so Chicoloapan will be seeing a lot of Elder Bennion! The happy part is that I am going back to the area I was trained in! Tepelcates is going to be so much fun! Also I will have a new white missionary, so it will be fun helping him know what a mission will be. -I honestly did not know you could find people you love in five weeks, but Chicoloapan. The kids here are SOOO amazing. Also handshakes are the best -Our temple trip had 33 investigators and it was so much fun to ...

Baptism of Erick!

Image
What a WEEK! This week was a blast! The Lords hand once again was present in the wonderful city of Chicoloapan. Here are the highlights: -BAPTISM OF ERICK!!! I had the privilege of baptizing Erick and it was definitely the most spiritual experience I have had during a baptism! The Spirit really can turn others to God(The story of this baptism will be below). Really a lot of people need to feel a spiritual experience to know of the truth.  -I taught English for my first time and I would say it was not too shaby. I had 21 people show up to my English class and I had very little prepared (So I was just a little nervous). But we learned how to pray in English and then started working on memorizing a song and the meanings of the words in the song. It turned out to be super fun and the class loved it! Teacher Bennion at its finest! -Found a really nice house on Facebook Marketplace and were super excited because it was also pretty cheap. We were walking to the house when we realiz...

Frustration to Dedication

What a great week to be a missionary! Every email I receive I absolutely love! Thank You everyone! Weekly Summary: This week was... different. So here are the highlights! -Tuesday morning we got a text from our family of Golden Investigators that they had an emergency trip to their uncle's house 5 hours away. This was really unfortunate because their baptism was supposed to be this week... -We organized a temple trip for our investigators and 26 people came! It was such a sacred experience and almost all of them asked to be baptized at the end! Temple for the win! -Can officially confirm that a companionship of four (even though we are not technically in a companionship of four) is not always sunshine and rainbows. But it is full of eventual love! -God most definitely performs miracles and once again we accomplished the goal of asistencias for Sacrament meeting! Funny Story: Very short funny story, but my Companion and I find it absolutely strange. A two minute walk from our hous...

Forget yourself and Focus on others

I am loving Chicolopan! There is so much work here and we are just having a blast!  Highlights: Sunday dinner was absolutely incredible! Last week an hermana asked us what food we liked. We went on to tell her 6 of our favorite dishes giving her options (but typically the hermanas disregard all of our suggestions. But I am not complaining because basically every meal in Mexico is amazing!). When we arrived this Sunday at her house she had 4 tables set up and on the tables were every single food that we asked for! It was seriously like I walked into heaven. To make the meal even better, she invited all of her neighbors and family who are not members to this meal of all meals! We feasted on the food and as 2 Nephi 31 says we were "feasting upon the word of Christ". Such a beautiful experience! We left absolutely stuffed! She then gave us all of the leftovers! Elder Flores asked to marry her after jajaja. Sadly she is happily married. Sorry Elder Flores! The Sacrament meet...

Performing Miracles Through Christ

First off I wanted to say thank you to everyone who reached out these past two weeks! Those letters meant more to me than you will ever know! Very appreciated and guided by the spirit! Wow it has been a wild ride of 3 weeks!  I have had three companions in the span of two weeks and it has been a rollercoaster of a mission. Here are the quick highlights: -Said goodbye to my Friend and companion Elder Lopez. It was so much fun being with him in Reforma La Perla! Also sad leaving the area I had been in for 3 months (I know that is not long for a lot of missions, but for my mission it is really rare). When I asked what he learned in this transfer he said the most important thing was how to make a dang good Oreo Shake! I taught him well haha. Luckily we learned a lot more than that though hahaha! -I trained for one week! This was the craziest week of my life! My companion was the most unique person I had ever met and we worked hard! In this one week I have more "What did you just...
