Becoming Clean

Had a CRAZY busy day and this week was kind of strange, so this email is going to be short!

Highlights:
-Played Chess with Ivan(The Blind Man). He actually is really good at chess (at least for  being blind.). He even beat my companion which was pretty crazy. But my companion demands for a rematch jajaja. I know he will get him sometime!
-Found some good news this week, but none of them came to church which is always heartbreaking!
-Had a missionary give me a haircut! Luckily he actually did a pretty good job. I was nervous to say yes, but he is kind of legendary in this mission so I decided to give it a go!
-Got to go back to Chicoloapan again to baptize! It was a super tender experience. The woman is 82 and just the biggest sweet heart on this earth! Always amazing to see the joy of baptism!
-I LOVE my companion Elder Smith! He is so funny and loves to work hard! It has been a blast seeing him grow as a missionary!

Spiritual thought:
"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day(judgement Day) shall declare it" 1 Corinthians 3:13
I love this verse and it really has been an impact on me during my mission. Far to often I find myself thinking about what other people think about me and how I can make them perceive me as a better person. In some ways this has driven me to become better, but for a wrong purpose. This verse reminds me that I need to just be me. Sometimes that means having people see your faults more or maybe they will not look up to you as a person who can help them or give them advise. But as this verse says, people will see us for exactly who we are! Nothing more or less. Everyone after my judgement will see my colors of my garments, both the good and the bad. But I have realized more and more throughout my mission that I do not need to try to make my "garments" look whiter than they are. I just need to go to Jesus Christ more! He is the only way that our garments will be white after leaving our judgement. So I invite you to let your garments show. At times it will be humiliating and frustrating. But it will create a need for Jesus Christ. It does not matter how many times you spray perfume over a dirty body, your body still is not clean! There comes a time when you just have to take a shower! Through these spiritual showers we will become happier and more confident!

Love you guys and sorry for this quick email!
