Prayer to Revelation

I hope everybody is doing AWESOME! Here is the quick highlights of my week:

-I received my new companion Elder Smith and it has been SOOO MUCH FUN! He makes me laugh so hard and we have been working really hard!
-I got to return to Chicoloapan to do some Baptisms! It was so much fun seeing the joy of Baptism! Jetzemani, Joan, Vennesa, and Kimberly all have been such amazing examples to me!
-Got to go to Central with my Mission Presidents and get some stuff. It was super cool because we got to see the house of the President and some historical sight. TO finish it off we got some amazing food, which always makes a trip better!

Spiritual Story:
This week we were walking home one night and we walked past a blind man. We were super tired and our initial thought was just to pass by and get to our house. But 5 minutes after walking by him, I felt the spirit to turn around. SO we walked back and we asked him if he needed help. He asked us if we could walk him to the bus station 10 minutes away to his wife. So we walked him there and shared the gospel the whole time! At the end he asked if we had a Book of Mormon in brail that he could read. Sadly we did not but we recommended the Book of Mormon app and that he could listen to the chapters. We also gave him a chapter to read for the night. An hour later he said he had listened to the chapter and wanted to read more. Ivan is progressing so well! He has had so many challenges in his life and it has been amazing to see how the gospel can comfort him in every way!

Spiritual thought:
This week I had a heavy focus on the power of prayer and revelation. I remembered how one of my professors in college invited the class to do a 15 minute prayer. I tried doing it that night and with all honestly it did not feel like anything special. The next class our teacher asked us how it went, and all of my fellow students had a similar feeling as I did. I remember him so clearly saying "You guys have so much to grow in your faith in prayer". He went on to tell us something that has changed my life recently. He said if God walked into this room, would you talk more or listen more. Also of us realized we would talk more. He then asked if we would have questions for him and if we would believe that he could answer our questions. We all once again responded with yes. He then said "Do you really believe you are talking in God then? Do you really have faith in prayer?". He asked us how many important things God could tell us in 15 minutes. I answered that he could probably blow my mind away with a single word. He said many more things that day that helped me with the power of prayer, but I want to share the 5 point program he introduced:
1. Prepare 6 questions before each prayer
2. Pray for at least 10 minutes
3. Have your journal (Because when you receive revelation from God you better remember it!)
4. Have things that can feed your soul with truth and that God can talk through (Book of Mormon, Bible, blessings from the past, ETC.)
5. Repent naturally in a conversation and have an open heart. Create an attitude of change and growth. Something that God can put trust in!
6.Be cheesy! Look at a light or a door and try to trick your mind into thinking that God is really there. Your soul knows it! But often your natural man does not. Try to convince it!

I can testify that through these steps you can create a more meaningful connection with God our Father! You can receive revelation! He wants to talk to you and use you as an instrument! WE JUST NEED FAITH IN THE PRAYERS!
