Simpleness of the Way

Another great week to be a missionary!

I felt so blessed this week and definitely guided by the spirit. The principle of keeping the lessons simple through simply sharing the principal, a testimony, and an invitation really worked well this week! Javier, Arely, and Juan all are testaments of the importance of reading the Book of Mormon and praying. They all just are progressing so well and it is all to do with their personal desire to learn more!

The biggest highlight of this week was Arely's 40th birthday. She was a Jehovah Witness her whole life until this year. So there have been a lot of first celebrations this year. It was so much fun celebrating her first ever birthday. She decided to invite basically all missionaries and asked as a present to highlight our favorite verses and chapters in her Book of Mormon to read. It was so much fun just seeing her excitement about her new life.

Second big highlight. The day after Christmas Elder Dixon, Elder Lopez, and I ate 25 tacos each. Never felt more proud and disgusted by myself! Pictures below!

Spiritual thought:
I read a verse in D&C 1 that says “For I am no respecter of persons”. God is not a respecter of persons. He doesn't love one person more than the other! He perfectly loves all of us! But if he does not respect people, who does he respect? So I then was reading Moses 5 which talks about Cane and Abel.
19 And in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
20 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock, and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel, and to his offering;
21 But unto Cain, and to his offering, he had not respect. Now Satan knew this, and it pleased him. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
God is not a respecter of Persons, but he is a respecter of actions. God cares about our personal offering! So what are you offering to God? You will be judged off of your actions! Not on what you wanted to do in your life. Thinking and planning out your life will avail to nothing. You need to offer up your most precious items like Abel did. I love these verses because both Abel and Cain did an action. Abel gave his most precious item, something he had cared for and prepared. Cane gathered fruit from the Earth. This week sacrifice the things that are hard for you! Put in the effort! Through these actions you will gain favor in the eyes of God. I bear my testimony that the Lord's Gospel is simple! But it requires exactness. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives simple solutions that solve the complex problems of the world. The solutions and suggestions of the gospel do not always add up. Like Pie they are mysterious and do not have a reason, but also have been reliably consistent in my life! Apply the simple principles of the gospel and your life will be blessed.
The talk I recommend this week is “The simpleness of the way” and it is a BYU devotional. There are so many more I want to recommend, but YOU NEED TO READ OR LISTEN TO THIS ONE! It will changer your Life.

Starly I hope this email was short enough for you to read haha!
